Competitions

Nakkila Golf's competitions are played under the official Rules of Golf, as published in the current rulebook. In addition, competition-specific conditions are posted on the notice board, and the current local rules are available both on the notice board and from the caddiemaster's office. The competition manager is responsible for the competition-specific local rules. If a situation arises for which the rulebook or local rules provide no solution, the Finnish Golf Union's primary recommendations, as most recently published in the Union's competition handbook, shall be followed.

2. Registration You can register for competitions in the following ways: On the sign-up list on the notice board By email or phone to the NaG office Through GolfBooker, if registration has been opened for that competition 2.1 Registration period The registration period ends according to the schedule stated in the competition invitation. It is the player's responsibility to ensure that registration is completed in time. 2.2 Late registration Late registration is possible if permitted by the competition management. Further information is available from the club office.

Nakkila Golf's competitions are intended for amateur players only. A maximum of 120 players are accepted in 18-hole competitions. If there are more entries than can be accepted, the selection is made primarily by category in order of registration.

Registration becomes binding once the registration period ends. The entry fee must be paid before the start of the first competition round. Nakkila Golf Ry reserves the right to charge the entry fee if a player withdraws without an acceptable reason or fails to cancel in time. In addition, any outstanding entry fees must be settled before new registrations are accepted.

Acceptable reasons for withdrawal include, for example, illness, work or family circumstances. Bad weather or an undesirable tee time are not acceptable reasons. Withdrawal must be reported immediately to the competition manager or the NaG office. An unjustified withdrawal may result in a temporary competition ban.

Players must be at the tee no later than their designated tee time. Good golf etiquette requires arriving at the tee at least five minutes before starting. Lateness results in a two-stroke penalty, and being more than five minutes late results in disqualification.

Practice on the course is prohibited on competition day, but practice on the range is allowed.

If play is suspended, for example due to weather or thunder, the player must mark the position of their ball and move to shelter at the clubhouse if necessary. The suspension is announced by horn signal, and play resumes only by decision of the referee once conditions allow.

9.1 Match play If a match is all square after the predetermined number of holes, play continues hole by hole until one player wins a hole. In handicap match play, handicap strokes continue to apply. 9.2 Stroke play In the event of a tie, the winner is the player with the lower exact handicap, unless otherwise stated in the competition invitation.
